Lenin

Shri Mataji spoke several times very positively about Lenin and described him as a realized soul and praised him. Therefore I ask myself what the definition of being realized actually is and what it brings if it does not mean bringing good into the world.

Lenin was a realized soul, you will be surprised, but he was forced by all his party members. He was alone, you see. And, all of them forced him to take a course of line which was really proved later on. [4]

Even Lenin was a Realized soul. But, he was so impressed, I mean he was so much forced into the party system, that he had to accept certain things in life. The majority has not been kind to the saints. [5]

Lenin is our role model

Like we can say, we cannot create Abraham Lincoln in America way; we cannot. Why? We cannot create Lenin, enough in Russia. Why?

Historical Comparison

1. Lenin’s relationship to God and religion

• Lenin was openly and explicitly atheistic. He rejected the existence of God philosophically and politically. In his writings he described religion as an illusion and as a means of oppression.
• He actively worked toward combating religious institutions. Churches were expropriated, closed, or destroyed. Clergy were classified as “class enemies.” Thousands of priests, monks and nuns were arrested, deported, executed. This is historically well documented. In 1922 Lenin personally ordered that resistance of the Church against expropriations be broken with utmost severity. Priests who refused to hand over church treasures were shot. Lenin wrote that in precisely this situation one must proceed “without mercy.”
• He defended radical philosophical materialism. Consciousness is a product of matter (the brain). God, soul and spirit are an illusion. Lenin explicitly wrote against spirituality and every form of metaphysics. Religion was to be systematically removed from society.

2. Lenin’s political position of power

• Lenin founded the Bolshevik Party and possessed absolute power within the organization. Especially in the early period of Bolshevism there were many intellectual discussions, since numerous party members were educated and firmly believed in communism. Nevertheless, in the end Lenin always had the final word in all important decisions.
• His political and ideological decisions were not the result of external coercion, but of his own conviction. He himself was the decisive architect of the system.

Lenin’s repressions and cruelties – Red Terror (from 1918)

Lenin was the main advocate of the Red Terror:
In order to secure his power, he used terror against the population and his enemies.
The Red Terror was justified as the struggle against counter-revolutionaries. But who exactly these counter-revolutionaries were was not clearly defined and it could affect anyone.
Lenin said it is better to arrest 100 innocent people than not to arrest one guilty person.
The Cheka “All-Russian Extraordinary Commission for Combating Counter-Revolution, Sabotage and Speculation” was Lenin’s secret police.
